Researchers at Irvine University in California have conducted a study which suggests that bad driving may be genetic. Using a simulated driving test, the study revealed that people with a specific gene variant did 20 per cent worse than those people that did not have the gene. According to the study, the people with the gene type were also more likely to not learn from their previous driving mistakes. Roughly 1 in 3 Americans have the gene trait which inhibits brain cell communication when completing tasks. The driving test was conducted on 29 people, seven of whom had the gene variant.
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
A fifty-nine year old bricklayer who was thought to be deceased surprised his friends and family by showing up alive and well at his funeral. Ademir Jorge Gonalves was reportedly killed in a car crash in Parana state in southern Brazil. Instead, Goncalves went out for drinks with friends on the night of the accident, and was not even aware of his own funeral until it was underway the following morning. Goncalves' supposed funeral happened to be held on the holiday of Finados, when Brazilians visit cemeteries to honour the dead. The corpse on display at Gon çalves' funeral was later re-identified and buried.
London, United Kingdom
A purple Teletubby robbed a woman at gun point in London on Halloween night. The woman was confronted by an individual dressed up as Tinky Winky, a popular character in the kids' television show "Teletubbies," who demanded cash. The mugger was in a full-body costume and has thus not been identified. Police admit that Halloween proves to be a good time for petty criminals, as costumes provide obvious cover. Later in the evening, police stopped and questioned another Teletubby on the London streets, but it was determined that this Teletubby was not the robber.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Malaysian government is actively promoting marriage advice and workshops as the number of divorces in the country continue to rise. The government-sponsored advice is centered on spousal togetherness and couples are encouraged to do everything from eating to bathing together. Workshops are also being set-up to teach women how to remain attractive, which includes using perfume and wearing sexy lingerie to spice up life in the bedroom. Husbands are encouraged to go to bed wearing clean pyjamas and to reduce body odour. This government sponsored initiative may seem shocking to some as, in this Muslim-majority conservative country, people rarely talk about their private lives in public.
