Kennedy's claim to fame may be sketchy, but she nevertheless has her fair share of fans. Many comments are left on her blog daily by loving fans from Paris to Argentina.

Nylon has played a big role in sustaining Kennedy's hipster image. Cory Kennedy appears to be the magazine's ultimate muse. When the folks at Nylon aren't busy photographing her for their fashion spreads or using her as their cover model (see October 2007 issue), they're shamelessly promoting her, including advertising Cory's newest collaboration with Urban Decay Cosmetics in a line called Cory.

She is also the model for their spring 2008 campaign. Urban Decay in turn waxes poetic about Kennedy as a "fashionista", "muse", and "blogger extraordinaire." It is, of course, an interesting, if not a surprising choice, considering her usual makeup-less face. The ads have transformed her into a pretty fierce glamazon; gone is the signature Cory unkempt hair and the tattered rag-tag doll look.

Kennedy's critics have slammed her as someone who has no claim to fame, terrible taste in music, and a bad sense of style. Interestingly, her admirers have expressed their love for her for the very same reasons-her modelesque features, her taste in music, and her great sense of style. A trainwreck to some and a gritty goddess to others, Cory Kennedy has managed to prolong her stardom for longer than anyone might have imagined, and without the help of reality television or playboy. For now, Kennedy has made somewhat of a lucrative career out of nothing.
