I can't believe it - there is lead in the freaking drinking water of Toronto schools! Children are drinking lead!

What a bunch of bloody poppycock. We ought to be able to remain safe from old-fashioned base metals in our drinking water. That doesn't seem like a very great expectation.

God protect and bless you, Blythewood Junior, H.A. Halbert Junior, Bliss Carman Senior, Charles Gordon Senior and Victoria Park Collegiate.

Brilliantly, the ministry recommends that children and pregnant women should use a filtration system to reduce lead ... if lead contaminants exceed the standard.

I can't imagine that anyone would know they were drinking lead-y water, but thanks for the suggestion, douchebags.

This all comes after the government of Ontario passed the Safe Drinking Water Act in June of this year, which for the first time required regular testing of drinking water in schools and daycares.

Even better: apparently, exposure to lead can cause learning problems and reduced intelligence.

Maybe this is the McGuinty government's solution to poor test scores; they can just blame it on the lead.
