The regular season has wound its way down for most Victoria athletics. Have a look at the stats and see how your teams have shaped up!

Two teams have come across as noteworthy this season:

Div 2 Coed Basketball team is having an amazing season! The team finished regular season with a perfect record: 5-0, ya, that's right, 5-0!

It's playoff time, starting this week. The team is strong, the women are wicked down low, and play spectacular defence, and we must be leading the league in rebounds. A special props from the team goes out to Elyse Brunette, who ripped it up in the last game, hitting absolutely everything!

The rest of the team is amazing and we are not only winning, but having a blast. Just a congrats on such a great season, the title is only a few weeks away...here's hoping!

Also, although the weekend games have not yet been included in this week's stat update, the unbelievable Women's Div 2 soccer team went into the playoff round one game on Saturday, starting at 3rd in their division.

They faced rivals UTSC, who they had played a hard-fought, near win with in the regular season. With Boyfriend Brian and Coach Andrew out supporting their ladies, and a strong showing of players, the ladies virtually dominated the game. Given tough field conditions (think of the same kind of mud that pigs enjoy bathing in), the girls played hard.

By the half, the game was scoreless, with both sides playing a tough offence and defence.

Switching strategies and noting player rotations at the half, Vic went in to the second phase of the game in good spirits. However, in the last quarter of the game, a lucky shot got past all-star goalie Lila Chemiak, putting UTSC ahead by a goal. UTSC only managed to get the ball into the Vic defensive area perhaps a half dozen times in the entire game, while Vic took over ball control and made an endless amount of shots on UTSC.

Goalies Chrissandra Plattener and Lila Chemiak both played brilliantly, slapping down some excellent shots. Near misses by our gals included some beautiful shots by Alexandra, Sarah-Lynn, Laura, and Cait, among others.

While the game finished with a score of 1-0 for UTSC, the girls fought hard, and regrettably ended the season in fourth place. However, props must be given for the best offence and defence Vic Girl's soccer has seen in loooong time.

With a great system of communication, passing, team unity and positive attitude, the girls truly represented what Vic Athletics is all about. Great season ladies!
